So the NY Comic Con was this past week/weekend. That means there will be a lot of things being shown this weekend some more throughout this week as well from Marvel, DC and other properties.  So let’s do a wrap up for NYCC and some other interesting discoveries of the past week/weekend.

Hey Arnold! Movie

You read correctly…a Hey Arnold! Movie is coming and those of us who grew up with Arnold and the crew couldn’t be more excited! If you haven’t heard of Hey Arnold!, then you need to check out the show on Netflix or Hulu (whichever one has it, I forgot). Check out the trailer below! This is supposed to be coming out on November 24th, 2017.

Pacific Rim 2 trailer released

I know the first one didn’t get the best of reviews but I enjoyed it. I enjoyed it enough to want to see what happened next. And my suspicions will be answered! The Pacific Rim 2 trailer was released this past week and it actually looks pretty lit. It stars John Boyega from New Star Wars trilogy fame. Expected to be released March 23rd, 2018.

Guess who’s back!?

doomsday-clock-ashcan-1-1031954

I’m not sure if anyone has been keeping up with the “Watchmen” comics and expecting the sequel “Doomsday Clock”. For those who haven’t yet, Rorschach is back! Beyond the teaser imagery that many had taken to mean Rorschach would return, series artist Gary Frank recently posted a video of himself drawing Rorschach on social media.

The scenes pictured in the preview pages take place in 1992, a few years after the original Watchmen. They are narrated by Rorschach, whom Johns referred to as an “unreliable narrator” in a press event last night in New York.

Flash War! No…not that kind Flash

In 2018, the big story in The Flash will be “Flash War,” which pits Barry Allen against the original Wally West. I’m not sure how many of you remember but Wally was the main “Flash” for a number of years before he disappeared during the “Crisis on Infinite Earths” DC event. Then Barry came back and Wally was essentially “erased” before recently coming back to DC comics. Confusing I know. But one question has been at the back of the head of most fans….who’s the better Flash? Well next year, we get to find out! The “Flash War” storyline will basically pit the two iconic Flashes(sp) against one another. So be on the lookout beginning of 2018. I really need to get back into buying comics.

New Justice League Trailer…finally!!

You may have already seen the teaser for the Justice League movie coming this November. This past weekend at Comic Con, another Justice League trailer was released. This one has a few different scenes the last one that was shown a few months back. After seeing this trailer, I think I’m finally ready for this movie. I’ll be going in with mid level expectations. I really want this to do well, but we’ll have to wait and hope this doesn’t crash like Suicide Squad did (even though I dug it *shrug*). Enjoy the new trailer below!

“Runaways” Trailer released

I’m not sure how many of you guys have read the comic series “The Runaways”. If you have read it, then you should be happy about this series. And if you haven’t read it, then I think you will the storyline. The Runaways follows a group of teens who discover their parents are part of an exclusive, villainous club. When the teens come into their own powers, they decide to band together and stop their evil parents from carrying out the wickedest of deeds. So basically it’s a superpowered “rebel against my parents” show but still should be interesting. What is really interesting is that this is the first original Marvel series to be put on Hulu instead of Netflix. I haven’t looked into why this is but since I have Hulu, I’ll check it out anyway. The first three episodes will air November 21st so add it to your list and lets watch together!

Static is back!

Had to save my favorite post for last. Static is coming back! Not only him but all of Milestone, well at least the Dakota Universe. One of the highlights of the comic book announcements coming out of NYCC this past week was the The Return of the Dakota Universe and the Launch of Earth M. From what I gathered, instead of trying to force the characters into the main DC universe, the characters will exist in a Universe call Earth M. Since the multiverse in DC has been established already, this would be nothing out of the ordinary. Milestone #1 will drop in the Spring of 2018 featuring two cornerstone Milestone characters, Icon and Rocket. This “relaunch” will be a reintroduction along with continuing their stories so you really won’t have to go back and read the past series to be caught up. I’m super excited and will definitely be on the lookout for these comics as soon as they come out!

Well that’s it for my wrap-up of NYCC and other things. I will be posting more as things come along. I know more things came out but haven’t had the time to do a full write up but I will get to those as soon as I can. Have suggestions? Hit me up in the comments and I’ll get to them. Until next time, Nerd Out!
