Throwback Thursday: Animals are people too

Welcome back! This week’s throwback is a PS1 classic (I’ve been on a game run, I know) and I actually think this game should be remastered or remade for the new generation of consoles. So let’s get this started!

Bloody Roar:

Who doesn’t remember Bloody Roar? Beating your friend as a Bunny while they use Wolf is extremely satisfying. Before it was called Bloody Roar, this game was called Beastorizer. The game’s theme was anthropomorphism where the player had the ability to transform into a half-human, half-animal creature known as a Zoanthrope (the name came from the clinical term, ‘zoanthropy’, which is similar to that of lycanthropy). The game would appear under the name “Bloody Roar” when ported to the PlayStation in 1998, which would become the permanent title thereafter. (http://bloodyroar.wikia.com) The gameplay  of Bloody Roar was a mix of classic side scrolling fighting games, such as Tekken, Soul Calibur, Guilty Gear and Street Fighter but to me it was more along the lines of Soul Calibur with the side stepping ability you had. Personally, I would love to see this game remaster or remade like Killer Instinct was on Xbox. Who wouldn’t want to see a man turn into a tiger and beat up a lizard in 1080p or 4K? Make it happen Sony!

I know I’ve been on a gaming kick lately but that’s because I’m gearing up to start streaming games on my PS4 and PS3. I promise next week will very different. If you have some classic games or even classic shows you want showcased, leave them in the comments or email us at noirnerdzone@gmail.com.
