New Nerds Blast: Let the games flow…pt. 1

I missed last week’s Nerd News Blast because…life happens. So this week’s will be a little longer since I will be putting a little bit of last week into this week. I will also be doing another blast to finish off this week’s news.

Dissidia Final Fantasy NT launches January 30, 2018 on PS4!

Who remembers Dissidia? Being able to use your favorite Final Fantasy characters. The latest Dissidia comes out almost a decade after the first one launched on the original PSP. The series ventured to arcades in the interim, but NT will be the first on PS4 and feature sweet HD visuals. Notable also is the inclusion of Team Ninja, makers of Ninja Gaiden and Dead or Alive franchises; Presumably, Square Enix brought them on to tool up NT’s combat. Dissidia NT has been in arcades in Japan for over an year (I believe) and I’m so very happy that it is finally coming to a bigger platform. Being able to play as Tidus in 1080p will be wonderful while beating my friends senseless (yeah I’m calling ya’ll out). January is a little bit away but it’s coming up soon and I will be copping. Take a look at the gameplay trailer below!

Anthem: Release date and more

the-people-behind-the-popular-mass-effect-games-have-a-brand-new-title-anthem

The announcement of Anthem was one of the most anticipated games that came to E3 this year. Bioware decided to put everyone to work on this game, even taking developers from Mass Effect: Andromeda (I’m still hurt about that. A little on that later though). An excerpt from the site I’m sharing this info from:

“Anthem, an open-world action RPG from BioWare and Electronic Arts and one of the most anticipated new games of 2018, enjoyed the spotlight when it debuted at E3 2017. Not only was it the first big AAA reveal of the show, but it was trumpeted at both the EA and Microsoft press conferences as the hot new thing vying to become your next MMO-shooter obsession. At first glance, the obvious comparison to make is that Anthem is aiming to be a cross between Destiny and Mass Effect – but a closer look reveals shades of Halo and Far Cry as well. Here’s a comprehensive breakdown of everything you need to know about Anthem, as we take a magnifying glass to every trailer and relevant Tweet to get a clearer picture of BioWare’s ambitious new universe.”

I hope to see more info about this to come about. I would especially love an Open Beta before it releases.

Pokemon Sun and Moon/Ultra Sun and Moon

As we all know, the Pokemon series loves to re-brand games to sell even more but this time it may be a little different. Pokemon Ultra Sun and Moon seems to include a seriously brand new story (along with brand new Pokemon of course) and a new look to the islands of Alola. One new Pokemon form was revealed in the trailer which was the Dusk form of Lyacanroc (which looks like a color switch of it’s Midnight form, but whatever). There have been changes to the map and lore of the original Pokemon Sun and Moon which gives the game a fresh look and feel. These games are due out November 17th, 2018 so start planning now if you want to come catch these Pokemon master hands (yeah I said it). Check out the video below for the reveal trailer and check out the site where most of this information comes from!
